- The stadium just celebrated it’s first birthday! It was officially opened on July 17, 2014.
- Home of the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL, despite being almost 40 miles from the city. NFL capacity is 68,500.
- Nicknamed ‘The Field of Jeans’ due to the 20-year naming rights deal with Levi Strauss – makers of Levi’s jeans and clothing.
- Cost of construction is estimated at more than $1.3 billion.
- NFL teams play only 8 home games a season, barring playoffs. As such, the stadium can also accommodate many other events and has more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space.
- Will host Super Bowl 50 in February 2016.
- Hosted WWE WrestleMania 31 in March 2015.
- Two of California’s NHL teams – the LA Kings and San Jose Sharks – contested a ‘Stadium Series’ game there in February 2015.
- Recent tour opponents San Jose Earthquakes of MLS have agreed to play once per season at Levi’s Stadium for the next five years. The stadium is also FIFA-approved.
- A popular concert venue, the stadium has or will soon host the likes of The Grateful Dead, One Direction and Taylor Swift.
